Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi City Municipality has planted over 5 million flowers, undertaken by the operations department of its sub-municipalities, aiming to improve the aesthetic appeal of Abu Dhabi and its neighboring areas, elevating the overall landscape of the city and its suburbs. Under the guidance of senior management, the municipality has pledged to plant 10 million flowers throughout 2023, both in the summer and winter seasons.
Different municipal centers, including Musaffah, Al Wathba, Al Shahama, Madinat Zayed, and the City Municipality Centre, have implemented their flower distribution and planting plans within their territories. Each center has already achieved 100 percent of its beautification targets, contributing to the overall goal of creating an exquisite spectacle with a diverse array of shapes and colors through the 10 million flowers initiative, as per the statement.
The flowers have been carefully selected for their vivid colors, attractive aesthetics, and delightful fragrances. These flowers are systematically planted in high-traffic areas, enhancing the elegance and attractiveness of the city’s key locations and facilities. The Municipality focuses on creating unconventional flower structures that emphasize the beauty of the region. The selection of flowers depends on various factors, including color coordination with existing plants, size, growth patterns, and scent.
The Municipality urged residents and visitors frequenting public facilities to actively conserve flowers, green spaces, vegetation, and trees, aiming to transform the city into one of the world’s most beautiful, revered, and soul-soothing places.
