Dubai: The Municipality of Dubai has begun to receive applications for temporary winter camp permits.
The camping season at Al Awir-1 will start on November 1st, 2022 and conclude at the end of April 2023. The move is in line with the Municipality’s commitment to provide the Dubai community with effective services that will ensure their happiness and wellbeing.
During the 2022–2023 session, the authority is prepared to accept applications for temporary camp permit. The Dubai Municipality has worked with the Dubai Police, Roads and Transport Authority, the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, and the Dubai Civil Defense to make sure that camping places are clean, secure, and provided with necessary supplies.
Teams from the Municipality are all ready to accommodate any requests campers may have and ensure they have an outstanding winter experience. People of Determination are also given priority, along with their safety and pleasure, in order for campers to also enjoy a good experience.
Government organizations have also been given designated locations to ensure the satisfaction and well-being of their staff, and a number of spaces have been assigned for store owners to offer goods and services to campers.
PERMIT REQUIREMENTS
Dubai Municipality also stipulated that all necessary paperwork, such as a current copy of their passport issued by the Emirate of Dubai and an extract from their civil registration, must be uploaded with the permit application via Dubai Municipality’s website.
6 months are allowed for camping, with a minimum of a 3-month permit. Each camper is limited to 400 square meters, and it costs 44 fils per square meter per week.
It is forbidden for those with permits to rent out their campgrounds or let others stay there. The facilities are only designated for family use and may not be rented to companies or hotels. The campgrounds are not intended for commercial use.
SPECIALIZED TEAM
The municipality has organized a specialized team to oversee the temporary winter camps who are in charge of monitoring permission concerns and ensuring that they are resolved promptly.
They will also be in charge of dealing with problems and barriers that arise during the application process, conducting routine site inspections to ensure that the rules and regulations of the municipality specified in the permit are followed, and overseeing the preparation of the campsite for the following season.
