Egypt: A UAE aid ship loaded with 4,016 tons of humanitarian supplies arrived in Al Arish City as part of the “Gallant Knight 3” operation, which aims to lessen the suffering of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
Mr. Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for International Development Affairs; Ms. Mariam Khalifa Al Kaabi, UAE Ambassador to Egypt; Mr. Rashid Mubarak Al Mansouri, Deputy Secretary-General of the Local Affairs Sector at the Emirates Red Crescent; and Major General Dr. Mohamed Abdel Fadil Shousha, Governor of North Sinai, witnessed the arrival of the ship.
Along with 131 tons of medical aid from the Emirates Red Crescent, the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, and the Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, the ship set sail from the port of Fujairah with 3,465 tons of food supplies and 420 tons of shelter materials.
Sultan Al Shamsi said that the UAE was one of the first countries to provide humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza, within its commitment to support the Palestinian people during their hardships.
Mr. Rashid Al Mansouri pointed out that this aid reaffirms the UAE’s efforts in supporting initiatives and developmental projects aimed at assisting the Palestinian people affected by the dire situation in Gaza.
The UAE aid to the Palestinian people within Operation “Gallant Knight 3” before December 15 amounted to more than 7,523 tons, while the total number of aircraft within the UAE air bridge reached 111 aircraft and more than 63 trucks.
