Dubai: The World Green Economy Organization (WGEO), Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), and the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy (DSCE) have announced that the 9th World Green Economy Summit (WGES) will be held from 28 to 29 November 2023. The Madinat Jumeirah Conference Center will be the venue.
“Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, the World Green Economy Summit has established itself as an ideal platform that brings together experts and specialists in various areas of the green economy from around the world to exchange experiences and knowledge and discuss new ideas and initiatives,” Mr. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council Energy, MD and CEO of DEWA, and Chairman of WGEO, stated.

Mr. Al Tayer emphasized the vital role of policymakers, the corporate sector, and other participants in shaping the global climate agenda and expediting progress on the Paris Climate Agreement’s goals. He mentioned that WGES fosters dialogue and enhances partnerships to address global challenges and speed up the shift toward a sustainable green economy.
The 8th WGES, which occurred last year under the theme ‘Climate Action Leadership through Collaboration: The Roadmap to Net-Zero,’ included more than 20 panel discussions and workshops. It brought together global figures, key officials, decision-makers, thought leaders, and heads of international institutions and organizations. They shared valuable insights and expertise regarding the best approaches to driving the shift towards a sustainable green economy.
