Abu Dhabi: UAE Team ADQ, the first professional Women’s cycling team of the UAE, has concluded the training camp in Tuscany, Italy, which was held ahead of the 2023 season.
The training camp included technical preparations, baseline assessments for the riders, physiological and metabolic testing, nutritional screening, and medical screening that will contribute to the development of a bespoke training plan for every rider in the team.
In addition, there is a focus on aerobic-based training and building body strength and endurance as part of physical training.
The team head added that “through the UAE Team ADQ Social Impact Program, we are also keen to set an inspiring example for fans and women in the UAE and around the world. We consider nurturing talent and provider of opportunity as part of our mission and feel proud to have three young Emirati amateur riders, joining the core team to share a professional training experience during this training camp in Tuscany. “
Sixteen riders, from nine nationalities, will represent the UAE Team ADQ during the new season.
The official riders for the new 2023 season are Ms. Safiya Alsayegh (UAE), Ms. Alena Amialiusik (Belarus), Ms. Olivia Baril (Canada), Ms. Marta Bastianelli (Italy), Ms. Sofia Bertizzolo (Italy), Ms. Eugenia Bujak (Slovakia), Ms. Chiara Consonni (Italy), Ms. Eleonora Gasparrini (Italy), Ms. Mikayla Harvey (New Zealand), Ms. Elizabeth Holden (Great Britain), Ms. Alena Ivanchenko (Russia), Ms. Karolina Kumiega (Poland), Ms. Erica Magnaldi (Italy), Ms. Silvia Persico (Italy), Ms. Laura Tomasi (Italy), and Ms. Anna Trevisi (Italy).
