Abu Dhabi: The UAE football community will launch the UAE Pro League’s 2022-2023 season awards ceremony on 10th August 2023, at the Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental Hotel.
The last season’s standout performers and best-in-the-game players, coaches, and clubs will be honored in the ceremony. Nominees were initially chosen using data from Opta, the official analytics partner of the UAE Pro League. Afterward, fans, team captains, coaches, and the media participated in a voting phase, resulting in the top three contenders for each award.
The nominees include notable individuals who showcased outstanding performances in the previous season. To ensure an extraordinary evening, the UAE Pro League has carefully designed a variety of special segments and innovative initiatives, reminiscent of the grandeur seen in previous editions. Yet, this isn’t solely a celebration of last season’s achievements; it also sets the stage for the exciting upcoming season.
The nominees for the Golden Ball Award include Ali Saleh from Al Wasl, Ali Mabkhout from Al Jazira, and Yahya Al Ghassani from Shabab Al Ahli. The shortlist for the Golden Ball for the best foreign player includes Federico Cartabia (Shabab Al Ahli), Laba Kodjo (Al Ain), and Mohamed Firas Ben Larbi (Ajman).
Furthermore, the awards ceremony will cover accolades based on statistics, including the Golden Shoe for the leading scorer in the ADNOC Pro League, the Golden Shoe for the top scorer in the ADIB Cup, the Silver Shoe for the highest scorer in the U21 Pro League, Fantasy Manager of the Year, and the Dream Team Award.
