Sharjah: Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, officially opened the much-anticipated Hanging Gardens in Kalba. Spanning 1.6 million square feet and reaching 281 meters above sea level, the gardens boast over 100,000 trees, cascading waterfalls, and vibrant flowers adorning terraces.
The Sheikh toured the gardens, enjoying student performances and inspecting features like playgrounds, mountain climbing trails, and a central restaurant with panoramic views. The restaurant offers 215 seats and complements a traditional wooden eatery perched even higher for breathtaking vistas.
The gardens cater to all ages with designated play areas, three-level skiing facilities, and an excursion train traversing the expansive landscape. Visitors can also enjoy a 760-meter running track and ample amenities like parking, restrooms, prayer rooms, and a cafeteria.
This project aligns with Sheikh Dr. Sultan’s vision to revitalize Kalba’s economic, tourism, and cultural landscape. The Hanging Gardens aim to become a top destination, offering leisure, entertainment, and a chance to connect with nature, ultimately boosting tourism and the city’s overall development.
