Abu Dhabi: The Joint Weather and Tropical Assessment Team has announced that the weather phenomenon that impacted the United Arab Emirates over the past few days has ended.
The team reported that to make sure that the appropriate steps have been taken by the appropriate authorities to address the weather event in a proactive, professional, and adaptable manner, they have increased their monitoring and follow-up operations during the last few days.
With cooperation from the Ministry of Interior, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), and several other capable government institutions, the team convened a series of meetings under the direction of the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA). After researching and assessing the situation in the regions of the nation impacted by the weather event, the discussions centered on going over all possible outcomes and developing preventive and precautionary actions.
As for NCM, they verified that the nationwide weather event had ended, stating that its intensity had steadily decreased starting late Thursday night and was confined to the country’s north and east. According to the center, its staff are working nonstop to deliver accurate and timely weather information and forecasts, which greatly enhances residents’ and citizens’ safety.
The Ministry of Interior, for its part, confirmed that the field and specialized teams, as well as the central operations centers and rooms, are present and on high alert to deal with the weather events proactively and protect property and life.
To guarantee a prompt response to any emergency and the continuation of company activities, the capable committees and teams were also in constant session throughout the weather event.
