Sharjah: On World Health Day, celebrated annually on April 7th, the Sharjah Charity announced significant expansions in its health assistance programs. Abdullah Sultan bin Khadim, the Executive Director, highlighted the organization’s commitment to aiding patients unable to bear their treatment costs.
The Sharjah Charity has adopted a systematic approach to enhance the delivery of medical treatment and medicines. This includes a strategic policy to remove barriers for prompt assistance, ensuring patients receive necessary treatments and medicines without delays.
In its latest efforts, the Sharjah Charity has supported 1,377 patients, including funding for 356 surgical procedures for critical conditions such as catheterization, heart surgeries, and vital organ transplants, including liver, marrow, and kidneys. Additionally, 215 individuals suffering from chronic diseases received ongoing treatment support to ensure their conditions are managed without interruption.
The initiative also extended aid to 153 cancer patients and 210 individuals facing kidney failure, highlighting the Sharjah Charity’s comprehensive approach to health assistance. Furthermore, the program covered the costs for 111 childbirths and offered new hope to infertility patients through the sponsorship of fertilization and Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) procedures.
In a compassionate move, the Sharjah Charity also facilitated the settlement of medical debts for 105 patients in cooperation with healthcare institutions, following thorough case assessments to confirm their need for support. Moreover, the assistance program extended its reach to 102 patients with disabilities and 81 individuals needing eye care, demonstrating the organization’s inclusive support for those in medical distress.
