Dubai: The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has partnered with key stakeholders in the health sector to announce the deployment of specialized health education teams at airports. This strategic move aims to safeguard the health and safety of pilgrims embarking on the Hajj pilgrimage, protecting them from infectious diseases and ensuring a healthy journey.
The health education teams will accompany Hajj convoys before their departure from the country, offering crucial health guidance and outlining necessary precautions to be taken throughout the pilgrimage. With the support of the Ministry’s unified awareness campaign, titled “Safe Healthy Hajj,” in collaboration with the Department of Health in Abu Dhabi, the Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre, and the Dubai Health Authority, the teams have been equipped with the necessary resources to provide effective support to pilgrims.
Working closely with the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments and local endowment departments across various emirates, MoHAP’s teams will administer required vaccinations to protect pilgrims against potential infections. Moreover, they will conduct health screenings, including blood pressure and diabetes tests, focusing on individuals with chronic ailments, the elderly, and pregnant women.

The teams will also advocate for adherence to preventive measures that reduce the risk of contracting diseases and health complications. Emphasizing the importance of avoiding heat exhaustion and physical exertion, they will highlight the significance of maintaining a balanced and nutritious diet to support the overall well-being of the pilgrims.
Furthermore, MoHAP’s teams will maintain constant communication with the medical teams accompanying the Hajj groups. This collaboration will ensure the provision of necessary medications, medical consultations, and comprehensive health and awareness services throughout the pilgrimage. The Ministry aims to enable pilgrims to perform their Hajj rituals in optimal health and safety.
The deployment of specialized health education teams at airports demonstrates the Ministry of Health and Prevention’s commitment to prioritizing the well-being of Hajj pilgrims. Through the “Safe Healthy Hajj” campaign and collaboration with esteemed partners, MoHAP aims to create a secure environment, equipping pilgrims with the necessary knowledge and support for a successful and safe Hajj experience.
