Dubai: The Crown Prince of Dubai, Mr. Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, has toured the Dubai Intelligent Traffic Systems Center (ITS Center) in Al Barsha.
The facility is one of the world’s largest and most advanced traffic control centers, known for its use of smart technology and effective traffic system management.
The center is connected to various devices for traffic monitoring, data collection, and other smart services. With its intelligent traffic systems, it can effectively manage and control Dubai’s entire present and future road network.

Mr. Mohammed Al Maktoum observed its innovative projects, which aimed at expanding intelligent traffic management across Dubai’s road network and enhancing infrastructure.
The center deploys cutting-edge technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, the Internet of Things, and traffic congestion prediction technologies to offer proactive services to Dubai’s road network users, as per the statement.
In 2020, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, inaugurated the Center. It was built by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) at a total cost of $160 million. The RTA is the primary governmental agency responsible for roads and transportation in Dubai.
The facility has enhanced the detection and prediction of road incidents and congestion, enabling quicker responses to such situations.
According to the data from the previous year, since its launch, incident monitoring on Dubai roads has seen a 63 percent improvement, resulting in a 30 percent reduction in emergency service response times. It also managed to cut down the travel time in the emirate by 20 percent.
