Dubai: Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, has visited the Edge of Government platform at the end day of the World Governments Summit (WGS) 2024.
Under the subject “Shifting Perspectives,” the Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation oversaw the Edge of Government platform, which featured 13 ideas intended to promote an original, unconventional approach to tackling pressing issues. The main goals of the platform were to motivate and inspire users through interactive experiences.
The Edge of Government platform seeks to identify global government innovations, providing a forum for information exchange and a sneak peek at cutting-edge, future-ready capabilities.
The two winners of the 6th Edge of Government Award, which were revealed on the second day of the WGS, stood out among the exhibits. These included the Life Work Balance project in Spain and the RoboRoyale ecosystem support project in Turkey. Other innovations included submissions from Canada, Guatemala, China, USA, Kenya, UK, Finland, Spain, Australia, India, France, Rwanda, and Türkiye.
Sheikh Hamdan was accompanied by Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, the commander-in-chief of the Dubai Police, Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, the minister of state for artificial intelligence, digital economy, and remote work applications, as well as Abdulla Al Basti, secretary-general of the Executive Council of Dubai.
During this year’s summit, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation introduced attendees and guests to important government initiatives and creative solutions with the launch of the sixth edition of the Edge of Government Award.
