Dubai: Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, one of the three chambers operating under the umbrella of Dubai Chambers, has hosted the 2023 annual meeting of the chamber’s Board of Directors and Advisory Council members.
At the annual meeting, the chamber’s significant achievements and initiatives in 2023 were reviewed. These include the launch of the ‘Business in Dubai’ platform, the Emirati Training Academy and App Olympics under the ‘Create Apps in Dubai’ initiative, and several informative digital economy publications.
In addition, the chamber successfully participated in a number of international roadshows and hosted the ‘Expand North Star’ exhibition, which attracted 1,800 startups from 100 countries across the globe.
Mr. Saeed Al Gergawi, Vice President of the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, stated that, “The UAE government strategy is aimed at ensuring a promising future for the digital economy and enhancing confidence among the business community by providing comprehensive support and creating opportunities.”
Mr. Al Gergawi further commented that, “The chamber remains committed to launching initiatives and programs that will achieve the vision of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to consolidate the Emirate’s position as the global capital of the digital economy and support the growth and development of companies in the digital industries.”
Participants also discussed the chamber’s efforts to attract and support emerging technology companies, in addition to hosting digital economy workshops and government workshops to enhance the Emirate’s favorable business environment.
“We seek to strengthen communication and partnerships to define the digital economy growth agenda for 2024 and share ideas transparently. This will help us to overcome any challenges and benefit from opportunities to further enhance Dubai’s digital economy and contribute to the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33),” Mr. Al Gergawi added.
