Dubai: Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) has unveiled plans to establish the “Dubai AI & Web 3.0 Campus,” a sprawling hub for artificial intelligence and technology companies in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia (MEASA) region. The initiative aligns with the directives of Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance, and President of DIFC.
Over the next five years, the ambitious project will transform the DIFC Innovation One premise into a dedicated campus spanning more than 100,000 square feet. The primary focus of the campus will be on leveraging AI and Web 3.0 in the financial services sector. It aims to attract visionary entrepreneurs, disruptors, and engineers who possess a deep passion for emerging technologies.

DIFC’s Innovation Hub, already renowned for its comprehensive FinTech and venture capital environment, will be further bolstered by the establishment of the campus. It offers cost-effective licensing solutions, progressive regulations, innovative accelerator programs, and funding opportunities for growth-stage startups. The finance and innovation sector in DIFC experienced significant growth, with over $615 million raised in funds during 2022 alone, attracting 686 associated firms.

It seeks to establish a vibrant ecosystem of AI-driven initiatives within the region. Additionally, AI and Web 3.0 companies will benefit from a sector-specific licensing and regulatory framework, along with the unique soft infrastructure provided by DIFC.
By spearheading the creation of a global ecosystem for AI and Web 3.0, DIFC aims to foster cutting-edge technologies and attract top global talent. The integration of physical and virtual infrastructures will position the Dubai AI & Web 3.0 Campus as the preferred headquarters for leading AI and Web 3.0 companies and venture capitalists in the region.
