Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC) and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) declared that the next edition of the ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon will be held on 16th December 2023.
Following the announcement of 2023 as the “Year of Sustainability” by President, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the fifth ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon will place even more emphasis on sustainability, with several initiatives aimed at minimising the event’s impact on the environment and lowering waste.
The ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon supports ADNOC and ADSC’s initiatives to promote healthier and more active lifestyles by giving runners of all abilities, especially People of Determination, assistance and training to help them begin or continue their journeys towards wellness.

“We are thrilled to announce the new ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon date. The 2022 edition, held on a stunning new city course that covered the UAE capital’s most prominent landmarks, was a huge success, attracting more than 20,000 participants from across the UAE and beyond,” stated Mr. Suhail Abdulla AlAreefi, Executive Director of the Events Sector, Abu Dhabi Sports Council.
The Marathon Race Series will once again offer year-round engagement and training opportunities, geared to help runners get ready for the major event, in addition to the flagship race on 16th December 2023. On 2nd September 2023, Abu Dhabi will host the first community race, which will be a shorter indoor run. The second occasion is slated to take place on October 7 in Al Ain. On 4th November 2023, a half marathon will be held at Abu Dhabi’s renowned Yas Marina Circuit to cap out the series.
After Ramadan, a free eight-month training program will begin in anticipation of the Marathon. Sessions will be offered around the UAE under the direction of skilled coaches and are intended to assist runners of all abilities in preparing for their preferred distance.
The fifth ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon is now open for registration on its official website. All Marathon event distances are available with a 30 percent “early bird” discount for those who sign up before the end of April. The Community Race Series will also offer a 30 percent discount code to marathon registrants.
