Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Music Arts Foundation (ADMAF) has revealed the program of the 21st Abu Dhabi Festival 2024.
The event will be held under the patronage of Sheikha Shamsa bint Hamdan Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent for Women Affairs and Chairperson of the Higher Committee of the Ataya Initiative.
The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) and the foundation have partnered to donate a portion of the ticket sales proceeds to the “Tarahum for Gaza” campaign.
With the theme “The Will of Hope,” the Abu Dhabi Festival 2024 will celebrate artistic brilliance and cultural diversity through a remarkable array of co-productions and specially commissioned works for ballet, classical music, jazz, opera, and traditional Arabic events, in addition to the events of the educational community program that runs concurrently.
The 21st edition of the festival includes the People’s Republic of China as the guest of honor for its 21st edition on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and Founding Honorary Patron of the Abu Dhabi Festival, said that the Abu Dhabi Festival is launching the third decade of its sustainable journey as a translation of Abu Dhabi’s cultural vision, further renewing its commitment to strengthening the UAE’s presence on the global stage. It stems from the belief in the crucial role of culture and the arts in fostering hope, spreading values like coexistence, peace, and human fraternity, and conveying messages of tolerance, as per the Minister.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed also noted that the 21st edition of the Abu Dhabi Festival comes in conjunction with the celebration of the 52nd National Day of the UAE, as well as its hosting of the United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP28), to reflect environmental awareness, contribute to combating climate change, and preserve earth’s resources for future generations.
