Abu Dhabi: The Department of Government Enablement Abu Dhabi (DGE) has unveiled the Government Financial Capability Program in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Department of Finance.
The program seeks to strengthen the skills, knowledge, and expertise of financial professionals working within Abu Dhabi government entities.
Additionally, the program aligns with the Abu Dhabi government’s professional financial competencies framework and caters to four professional levels. This include employees in supervisory and leadership positions, executive directors and directors of corporate services, managers and directors of finance functions, finance professionals, as well as new joiners.
The program empowers participants to acquire core financial, digital, and business skills, enabling them to deliver measurable impacts in their respective roles and hone their leadership skills.
Ms. Buthaina Al Mazrouei, Acting Director General of Government Financial Affairs at the Department of Finance in Abu Dhabi, commented that “our participation in the program aims to support and leverage Emirati talent and expertise in the financial sector. The curriculum was carefully designed to address the current challenges and future needs of the global economic landscape.”
The program further offers a learning journey with a diverse range of components, including face-to-face training, global leadership insights, virtual masterclasses, case studies, workshops, simulations, and capstone projects.
After completion, participants will acquire proficiency in 11 core competencies, including planning and forecasting, financial due diligence, procurement processes, financial reporting, fund management, cost accounting and management, financial IMS, governance, risk and control, corporate finance and treasury management, performance management, and compliance. In addition, top performers will have the opportunity to pursue technical and financial certifications, such as Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
