Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi University (ADU) will host the “International Conference on Advancing Sustainable Futures” (ICASF 2023) from December 5 to 6, at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, Dubai Palm Jumeirah.
The event will be held under the patronage of Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence and it will bring several academics and industry experts from more than 70 countries.
The conference is being organized in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), the International Society of Environmental Geotechnology (ISEG), and leading universities worldwide and is sponsored by Emirates Red Crescent, Emirates Global Aluminum, and Adeeb Group.
The ICASF 2023 will held under the theme “Sustainable Futures and Technologies”. It will serve as a platform for international researchers and specialists to engage in the most pressing challenge and discuss and share their latest research findings in the field of sustainability.
Professor Ghassan Aouad, Chancellor of Abu Dhabi University (ADU), stated that, “As the UAE sets the stage to host COP28, ADU is thrilled to present the ICASF 2023 Conference, where prestigious speakers and experts will delve into discussions focused on challenges and solutions in the field of sustainability. Through strategic collaborations, we aim to explore advancements and establish robust foundations that foster a world where innovation aligns with sustainability.”
Furthermore, the conference will address the four sustainability pillars in line with the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including technology, people and culture, environment, and economics.
It will feature six tracks, including 34 sessions discussing 210 research papers that were chosen out of 350 submissions, which will shed light on sustainability and the environment. These sessions will focus on topics such as Business Management Sustainability and Law, Sustainability and Education, Sustainability in Health, Food, and Social Science and Future Researchers, as well as Science and Engineering Sustainability.
Additionally, the conference will include three special sessions such as Education for Sustainable Development: What, why, and How and ICASF 2023 – Indexed Scopus Proceedings and Publications and The Need for Accelerating Transformative Change in Cities and Communities: The Crucial Role Played by Universities.

The conference will also witness the signing of innovative Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with prestigious international universities and the announcement of the best 14 universities according to the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 2023 Award.
