Abu Dhabi: The largest social investor network in Asia will hold its flagship event, the AVPN Global Conference 2024, in Abu Dhabi from April 23–25. This will be the first time the event has been held in the region.
More than 1,500 social investment leaders from around the world will be gathered for the event, which is being hosted under the auspices of Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council. The goal of the gathering is to mobilize new partnerships, innovations, and capital towards sustainable social impact in Asia.
The three-day conference, which has as its theme One Asia, One Future, offers a range of funders a chance to network, learn, and come together to take action for Asia and to tackle the most urgent social, economic, and environmental issues facing the area.
HE Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation and member of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council, stated that, “The UAE knows first-hand that shared challenges require shared solutions. In hosting the AVPN Global Conference 2024, we further our commitment to building a better future for all through combined action, innovation, and sustainable investment. Harnessing Abu Dhabi’s convening power, and its ability to unite diverse actors, we look forward to driving new progress and partnerships towards our joint development goals.”
The conference this year will be the most comprehensive yet, utilizing the AVPN network and Abu Dhabi’s capacity to bring together participants from North, South, East, and West Asia. Investors, philanthropists, firms, policymakers, researchers, entrepreneurs, and impact organizations from throughout the globe who operate in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and all eastern regions up to Australia and New Zealand will be present.
The conference agenda will cover a wide range of subjects, such as how impact investors may advance the net zero agenda, how blended finance can accelerate the transition to renewable energy, and how artificial intelligence can be used to further humanitarian endeavours and youth development.
The conference expands upon the success of its 2023 edition, which saw over 1,300 participants from 44 markets participate in an international dialogue and the introduction of a number of frameworks, papers, and projects, including a $3 million fund devoted to the mental health of young people.
