Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Police are ready to tackle the upcoming tough weather until April 17th. They’ll collaborate closely with other authorities to ensure public safety.
Abu Dhabi Police General Command said in a statement today that Abu Dhabi Police and pertinent organizations, such as the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy (DoE), the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT), the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority (ADCDA), Al Ain Municipality, Al Dhafra Municipality, and the Abu Dhabi Department of Transportation (DMT), will make sure to maintain community safety and protect lives and property.
The Abu Dhabi Police General Command reported that in addition to putting support patrols into action and operationalizing emergency plans, they also took other preventative steps, such as increasing the number of officers stationed in the operations rooms.
The public is being urged by the Abu Dhabi Police Command and Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority to take all appropriate safety measures and to be informed about any changes from the National Center of Meteorology and other official sources.
The importance of safe driving and adhering to safety precautions is also being emphasized by the two organizations. These precautions include avoiding distractions while driving, obeying speed limits when the speed reduction system is in effect, keeping a safe distance between vehicles, avoiding abrupt braking, and slowing down when turning to prevent the vehicle from skidding.
The Department of Energy and businesses in the energy industry have also increased emergency preparedness and directed urgent maintenance teams to react promptly to any reports of weather-related power outages.
