Sharjah: The Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) has developed a strategy to provide secure passenger transportation services during everyday excursions between cities during the Eid Al Fitr holiday.
The plan entails increasing the number of passenger journeys per day; from April 9 to April 12, 6,330 excursions are anticipated to be run on all transit routes connecting cities.
The Sharjah RTA Chairman, Yousef Khamis Al Othmani, said that the emirate’s geographic position has made it a center for several Arab and other nations. Therefore, by creating plans and implementing policies that improve transportation services, the Authority is attempting to keep up with the growing number of consumers of transportation services, particularly buses. These tactics include running the emirate’s transportation system on many lines, with an emphasis on maximizing comfort and smoothness by using safer modes of transit.
With enough buses to serve everyone who needs transportation throughout the emirate, the Authority has finished getting ready to welcome well-wishers on Eid Al-Fitr. During that time, 789 buses have been assigned to work on transportation routes connecting cities. The Authority wants to continuously give its users every kind of comfort.
The Authority has implemented a number of plans to move people over the break. One of these is cutting the daily and 15-main line bus time intervals between cities managed by the Authority to five minutes during peak hours on the day of Eid, from 45 minutes on other days. This helps to ensure efficient transit and prevents passenger congestion at the stations.
This action is in line with the Authority’s directives to boost trip operating capacity and raise the standard of service offered to the general public with the goal of offering simple, flexible travel at times that satisfy the needs of the emirate’s transportation users.
In order to handle the increase in passengers, a proactive strategy was put in place that involved augmenting the number of workers and personnel on duty during the Eid vacation to the proper degree in order to control passenger flow via Jubail Station and other stations.
