Abu Dhabi: The 15th group of wounded Palestinian children and cancer patients arrived in the UAE following President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s directives to treat 1,000 injured children and 1,000 cancer patients from the Gaza Strip at UAE hospitals.
The aircraft, carrying 27 patients in urgent need of medical attention and 60 family members, took off from Al Arish International Airport in the Arab Republic of Egypt and arrived at Zayed International Airport.
As soon as the medical teams touched down, they sent injured patients and those requiring emergency care to hospitals, sending other patients and their partners to live in the Emirates Humanitarian City.
The patients’ families expressed their gratitude to the UAE and its astute leadership for this admirable humanitarian endeavor, which stands as a singular example of sisterly nations’ support and unity.
They hailed the UAE’s prompt action as evidence of its dedication to helping the Palestinian people in difficult circumstances. They also expressed their gratitude for the unceasing efforts of the volunteer and medical teams who supported the patients no matter what along their journey.
The UAE has been a resolute ally of Gaza since the beginning of the conflict, initiating “Operation Chivalrous Knight 3” to deliver aid to the Palestinian population in the Gaza Strip.
Additionally, the United Arab Emirates has set up a 150-bed field hospital in Gaza and a 100-bed floating hospital at the port of Al Arish, which is furnished with radiography, operating rooms, critical care units, labs, pharmacies, and medical cabinets.
