Dubai: Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, ruler of Dubai and serving as the Vice President, Prime Minister, and Minister of Defense of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), graced the 29th edition of Gulfood 2024, the world’s premier annual food and beverage event, hosted at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
Highlighting the UAE’s pivotal role in enhancing global food sector collaboration and innovation, Sheikh Mohammed emphasized the country’s dedication to sustainable economic growth and global food security.
Underlining Gulfood 2024’s significance, Sheikh Mohammed noted its contribution to global supply chain efficiency and the fostering of public and private sector partnerships. He pointed out Dubai’s strategic advantages as a technology and trade hub in bolstering global food security.
Aligned with the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33) goals, Gulfood 2024 aims to elevate Dubai’s GDP and position it among the top urban economies globally, focusing on sustainable practices for a resilient future.

Accompanied by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed toured the exhibition, running from 19th to 23rd February. The event attracted 5,500 exhibitors from 190 countries, showcasing innovative solutions in the food and beverage industry aimed at reducing costs, enhancing efficiency, and minimizing food waste.
Notable attendees with His Highness included Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak Al Shamsi, Minister of Climate Change and the Environment, and Helal Al Marri, Director-General of the Dubai World Trade Centre Authority, alongside senior officials.
