Abu Dhabi: Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, in keeping with last year’s campaign, has taken part in the second “Ramadan Together” initiative, which was started by the Emirates Blood Donation Association.
“Drive safely to arrive safely” is the slogan of the initiative, which aims to increase driver awareness before Iftar by advising them to abide by speed limits, maintain safe distances when driving, and pay attention when approaching pedestrian crossings at intersections and traffic signals.
This program is also a component of the association’s strategic plan, which promotes volunteerism and community service by people of all ages and diverse institutions. It is held annually during Ramadan, coinciding with Zayed Humanitarian Day, which honors the founder of the UAE, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, by remembering his life and legacy.
The program’s goal is to provide about 250,000 Iftar dinners at three crossroads in Abu Dhabi’s Al Ain and Khalifa City.
At each junction, more than fifty volunteers took part in this endeavor. Volunteers from collaborating institutions and other areas also contributed, with a daily total of 450 participants.
The association and the volunteer team organize many box-packing events throughout the month to enable elderly, kids, and determined individuals to take part in this program under guidelines that take into account their skills and health while guaranteeing their safety.
On World Down Syndrome Day, Mother’s Day, World Autism Day, and Happiness Day, drivers received symbolic presents in connection with several March festivities.
The Secretary-General of Zayed Higher Organization, Abdullah Al-Humaidan, emphasized that individuals with grit are a valuable component of society and that their voluntary contributions to this humanitarian effort are valued.
The initiative’s goal is to develop good values and a love of generosity in its members’ hearts, and he complimented this goal and extended appreciation to the Emirates Blood Donation Association and the initiative’s organizers for their collaboration.
