Abu Dhabi: The UAE is celebrating its 52nd Union Day, a day that marks the unity of the emirates and commemorates the country’s founding in 1971 by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and his fellow founding fathers.
Every year on December 2, the UAE marks this day as a reminder of the nation’s journey from a young nation to a prominent global player. The UAE has several key accomplishments and developments throughout 2023, underscoring its commitment to growth, innovation, and prosperity.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, stated that the anniversary of the UAE Union is an occasion that bridges the nation’s present with its past and offers a glimpse of a brighter future.
Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and National Security Adviser, has affirmed that the UAE, led by President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, continues its journey of progress and prosperity, securing top global positions in various fields on the occasion of Union Day.
Marking the 52nd Union Day, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, said that, “The UAE’s achievements over recent years are the result of an unwavering will and continuous commitment to the nation, which was started by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding father of the UAE. Today, it is our duty to carry forward the responsibility and preserve these gains and this legacy to build a better tomorrow for our country through science, knowledge and innovation.”
