Sharjah: A diplomatic team from Thailand and the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) have held high-level meeting to explore ways to strengthen economic relations and increase trade volume between the two nations.
The Sharjah Chamber’s sponsorship of a Thai Business Council was also addressed between the two parties as a means of encouraging collaboration in investments and encouraging attendance at events and exhibits within the business community.
Conducted in the SCCI offices, the gathering coincided with a high-ranking Thai business delegation led by Sorayut Chasombat, the Kingdom of Thailand’s ambassador to the UAE.
The SCCI Chairman, Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, and the Director-General, Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, attended the meeting.
Also present were Abdul Aziz Al Shamsi, Assistant Director-General for Communication and Business Sector in SCCI, and Mai Bin Haddah Al Suwaidi, Head of Partnerships and International Cooperation at the Sharjah Chamber.
During the meeting, the parties talked about how to improve economic relations, fortify alliances, and improve coordination and collaboration between the Thai Embassy in the UAE and the Sharjah Chamber.
Prospects for improving communication channels were also discussed in order to enable cooperative events, reciprocal visits by business leaders, missions, and trade delegations from both sides, and to inform the business communities in Sharjah and Thailand about the benefits of investing in both nations.
The discussion also looked at possible areas of collaboration and the necessity of attending trade shows and events in both countries, especially the Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair and the Expo Center Sharjah-hosted Watch and Jewellery Middle East Show.
