Abu Dhabi: Countries across the Middle East and beyond are voicing serious concerns over escalating military tensions in the region, with widespread calls for restraint and diplomacy to prevent further conflicts. Several nations, including Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt, have issued statements urging parties to exercise restraint and prioritize diplomatic solutions over military actions.
The Russian Federation and the Sultanate of Oman echoed these concerns, emphasizing the need for self-restraint and adherence to international laws to mitigate the risks of expanding the conflict. Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed the necessity for political solutions, while Oman highlighted the importance of an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the opening of humanitarian corridors.
Similarly, Bahrain and Kuwait have expressed alarm over the military escalation potentially threatening regional security and stability. Both nations advocate for a de-escalation of tensions and adherence to the UN Security Council’s responsibilities to maintain international peace.
In the Gulf, Qatar and the UAE called for urgent international action to defuse tensions, emphasizing the need for calm and the avoidance of exacerbating the situation. Both nations stressed the importance of dialogue and respect for the United Nations Charter in resolving disputes.
Saudi Arabia reiterated the urgency of protecting the region and its people from the dangers of war, urging the Security Council to act decisively to prevent a crisis from escalating further.
Meanwhile, Egypt expressed its concern over the specific escalation between Iran and Israel, attributing the heightened tensions to recent military activities in the region. The Egyptian government is actively engaging with all relevant parties to stabilize the situation and protect regional interests.
On a different note, Austria reaffirmed its commitment to international peace efforts by announcing the deployment of its 50th contingent of troops to the NATO-led Kosovo Force (KFOR) mission. Austrian Defense Minister Klaudia Tanner emphasized Austria’s role as a reliable partner in international crisis management.
As tensions continue to rise, the international community remains focused on diplomatic efforts to ensure the stability and security of a region pivotal to global peace.
