Abu Dhabi: The Family Development Foundation (FDF) has launched the ‘School Bag’ initiative to foster values of solidarity and cooperation in society. The initiative further seeks to provide support for underprivileged families and groups to improve their living conditions.
The initiative, introduced in collaboration with the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), is in accordance with the Foundation’s strategy to increase the involvement of the Hafeet community and other areas of the Jebel Hafeet Community Centre in charitable endeavours. The initiative includes preparing school supplies for underprivileged children to bolster the community’s role in supporting disadvantaged families. In addition, children will participate in crafting school bag content.
Ms. Sanaa Al Suwaidi, Director of the Family Development Foundation Centres in the Al Ain region, remarked that the initiative represents the coordinated efforts of the nation’s stakeholders to introduce initiatives, programs, and activities that benefit society.
Ms. Al Suwaidi shared that “the Jebel Hafeet Community Centre is a comprehensive development forum providing various services covering various aspects of life. It helps create a better social environment, provide safe spaces for families, raise awareness, and assist people in acquiring the requisite skills and knowledge. It further keeps a close eye on community needs to improve the quality of life.”
The Director further praised the ERC for its relentless efforts to empower and support low-income families and for its role in making the initiative successful.
