Dubai: UAE’s flag bearer airline, Emirates, in partnership with the General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs in Dubai (GDFRA) now provides international travelers the opportunity to simplify airport procedures by agreeing to the use of biometric information.
The facility was earlier available only for UAE and GCC nationals. Due to this new order, the service will be available for international passengers too in 2023.

Lieutenant General Mohamed Al Marri, Director General of GDFRA, and Mr. Adel Al Redha, Chief Operating Officer of Emirates, signed the agreement in front of several senior officials.
This is the world’s first agreement that seeks to improve the innovative and digitally advanced travel experience for passengers.
The deal also enhances passenger traffic protocols at Dubai International Airport Terminal 3 and ensures a quicker and efficient travel experience for passengers on connecting flights and Dubai bound flights.

Emirates continually invests to improve customer experience and we thank the GDFRA for extending the bridges of cooperation, communication and coordination to add value to Emirates’ services and allow our international passengers to Fly Better.
Mr. Adel Al Redha declared in a statement.
According to the official announcement, travelers using biometric recognition technology can easily go through check-in, lounges, boarding, and immigration lines at Dubai International Airport Terminal 3 as the automated systems recognize distinctive facial characteristics and link to their passports for instant identity verification.
