Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s entrepreneurship-promoting initiative, Dubai Startup Hub has launched the sixth annual cycle of the Dubai Smartpreneur Competition for tech start-ups with a goal of providing opportunity, sustainability and trade.
The competition is open to all UAE entrepreneurs as well as those planning to move to the country. It enables them to play an active role in the Dubai Government’s plan to transform the city into a global hub for innovative start-ups.
The competition is being organized in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President & Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai in transforming Dubai into one of the world’s smartest cities. The application should be submitted through the Dubai Startup Hub website before 30th September 2021.
During the virtual announcement ceremony, Mr. Hamad Buamim, President & CEO of Dubai Chamber highlighted the competition’s support to the Chamber through integrated entrepreneurship strategies to boost the growth of start-ups by facilitating them with tools and knowledge.

According to Dubai Startup Hub’s report, more than 2000 innovative start-up ideas were submitted in the last five cycles, with an increase in the number of foreign submissions in recent years, reaffirming Dubai’s role as a global hotspot for promising businesses.
The entries will be assessed by a panel of high-level judges and the top three winners will get a cash award worth $40,840 while, the top 10 will get a chance to pitch live at the Dubai Expo 2020 and the top 30 start-ups will enter a four-day Bootcamp with top investors and businessmen.
