Dubai: Mr. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), has inaugurated the exhibition that DEWA is organising at its headquarters in conjunction with “UAE Innovates 2023.”
DEWA displays its most prominent innovative programs that use the technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4RI) to promote its digital transformation process. Mr. Al Tayer was accompanied by Marwan Bin Haidar, Executive Vice President for Innovation and the Future at DEWA, Mr. Waleed Bin Salman, Executive Vice President at DEWA, Dr. Yousef Al Akraf, Executive Vice President for Business Support and Human Resources at DEWA and Ms. Khawla Al Mehairi, EVP – Strategy and Government Communications at DEWA.

Mr. Al Tayer highlighted DEWA’s efforts to enhance its leadership in the areas of sustainability, innovation, and future shaping in all its projects to achieve the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 as well as the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050.
“DEWA has always been proactive in providing innovative services and programmes that aid Dubai’s progress towards leadership in the future by reshaping traditional work mechanisms to accommodate rapid global changes.”DEWA is the first utility globally and the first UAE government entity to enrich its services with ChatGPT technology supported by Microsoft. It is also the first local government organisation to launch its platform on the Metaverse,” Mr. Al Tayer shared.
The CEO toured DEWA’s exhibition, where it showcases an interactive web service for Distribution Renewable Resources Generation (DRRG) profiles, Power Network Real-time Simulator, that contains different energy source points to study the impact of these energy sources on the network, how to protect it, and how to make maximum use of it, and a smart recycle bin on a smart office to encourage employees to recycle plastic and aluminium cans.

The exhibition also includes Temi Robot as a Guide, who greets visitors to DEWA’s innovation activities and introduces them to DEWA’s projects and innovations; and the Waee Platform, which aims to enrich employees’ knowledge about information security, protect DEWA’s cyberspace, and create a safe and sustainable work environment through a set of information security-focused training courses and awareness sessions.
DEWA Digital Mapping Solution, a 3D mapping solution for the digitisation of assets and environments using LiDAR technology, as well as a proof of concept for asset tracking automation that automatically synchronises with the SAP system, are also on display.
