Sharjah: Al Qasimia University, in cooperation with the Labour Standards Development Authority in Sharjah, has launched training programs in the field of labour management. The programs are in accordance with the initiatives of both AQU and LSDA, seeking to train national leadership for the labour sector as well as build an attractive work environment in Sharjah.
The partnership comes as a translation of the Memorandum of Understanding between AQU and LSDA to enhance cooperation in the fields of training, qualification, and human resources development.
More than 70 employees in the government and private sector are currently registered in the three training programs, one on labour management, one on labour accommodation management, and one on labour crisis management.
The programs are designed to train and qualify some government and private sector employees and to provide them with the appropriate skills and competencies to specialise in the field of labour management.
Mr. Al Qaseer praised the strong cooperation between LSDA and AQU that resulted in the design of these programs, which will benefit the work environment in the Emirate of Sharjah, and hoped to seek more cooperation in the future.
Dr. Awwad Al-Khalaf, Director of Al Qasimia University, stressed the importance of these programs, designed in coordination with the LSDA, as part of the responsibility that the university assumes in its partnerships with various sectors, including the government sector in the Emirate of Sharjah.
Prof. Dr. Atta Hassan Abdelrahim, Director of the AQU Center of Continuing Education and Development, confirmed that the centre will continue its role in boosting the memorandums of understanding with various institutions to launch a series of such training programs in the field of labour management in cooperation with the LSDA. The centre will also design programs for teaching Arabic to non-native speakers to facilitate their integration into the Arabic-speaking society and help Muslims better understand the Holy Quran.
