Abu Dhabi: The Department of Health Abu Dhabi (DoH Abu Dhabi), the regulator of the healthcare sector in the emirate, has become the first healthcare regulator to collaborate with the Partnership for Health System Sustainability and Resilience (PHSSR).
The PHSSR, established in 2020, is a global collaboration between academic, governmental, life sciences, healthcare, and business organizations.
Mr. Al Kaabi also added that, “The Department of Health Abu Dhabi is keen to share its successes and learnings with the global healthcare community, in an effort to strengthen future health systems locally, regionally and internationally.”
The PHSSR is expanding on the seven key domains covered in its research and is active in 20 countries around the world. The domains will include financing, governance, workforce, medicines and technology, service delivery, population health, and environmental sustainability, using a unique framework developed by London School Economics to identify strengths, potential weaknesses, opportunities, and risks.
The partnership aims to explore and provide solutions to key healthcare areas across clinical research, digital health, and innovation.
As a result of this collaboration, the DoH launches the Abu Dhabi PHSSR research, with the goal of analyzing the efficiency and sustainability of Abu Dhabi’s and the UAE’s healthcare systems.
