Al Ain: The Ambulatory Healthcare Services (AHS), a unit of Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA) has gained the National Institute for Health Specialties (NIHS) Emirati Board institutional accreditation.
Dr. Mohammad Al-Houqani, Secretary-General of NIHS granted the institutional accreditation to the body after it was found to be in compliance with NIHS’s institutional accreditation standards.
Dr. Ghanim Al Hassani, Group Education and Research Director at SEHA, Dr. Noura Khamis Al Ghaithi, Acting Chief Executive Officer of AHS, Dr. Omar Nassib Al Jabri, Executive Medical Director and Dr. Latifa Mohammed Al Ketbi, Chair of Department were in presence at the accreditation ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Al-Houqani remarked that NIHS accreditation is a prodigious achievement, aligned to the UAE vision to develop the quality of health services and professional development of healthcare workers to the highest standards.
AMBULATORY HEALTHCARE SERVICES (AHS)
A gateway to health services in Abu Dhabi, AHS strives to enable access to all members of the UAE community to general, specialized, and preventive treatment of the highest quality, Dr. Al-Houqani observed while adding that, achieving institutional accreditation proves that the medical team’s administrative leadership is compatible with the highest international healthcare standards.
As much as 164 individuals have graduated from the residency program in the Ambulatory Healthcare Services, one of UAE’s oldest residency programs dating back to 1994.
Currently, 95 trainees have been enrolled for the program with 60 choosing family medicine, 25 opting for dental programs, and 10 inducted as dental interns. 29 more residents are expected to join the program in September.
Dr. Noura Al Ghaithi, Acting Chief Executive Officer, Ambulatory Healthcare Services remarked while commenting on the importance of this accreditation.
