Abu Dhabi: One of the top public universities in the region, the Zayed University (ZU) has decided to partner with Appolonia World for Orthodontics & Pediatric Dentistry, one of the most noteworthy pediatric dental centres in the Middle East, for research collaboration activities aimed at improving the oral and dental health of children and teens.
Officials from the two organizations signed a Memorandum of Understanding to formalize the deal at a ceremony held at the Abu Dhabi Campus of Zayed University.
Apart from the notable audience of dentists and professionals with great interest in advanced research in the medical and dentistry field, the MoU signing ceremony was attended by;
- Professor Clayton MacKenzie, University Provost & Chief Academic Officer
- Professor Fares Howari, Dean, College of Natural and Health Sciences
- Yaser Haj Hamed, Appolonia Founder & Orthodontist
- Professor Waleed Al Saadi, Consultant Pediatric Dentist & Medical Director of Appolonia Group
“The two institutions possess technical expertise and capabilities that will undoubtedly contribute to the positive outcomes of this cooperation, particularly in the areas of training and academic research, which will bring mutual benefits to students, researchers and the community alike.”
Professor MacKenzie observed about the collaboration.
Meanwhile, Professor Howari stated that, “This collaboration will grant us access to a local clinical and oral health information database. Appolonia Pediatric Dental Centres have done several surveys on the social, and psychological determinants of oral health.”
Sharing his remarks, Dr. Yaser Haj Hamed pointed out that this MoU is a scientific and professional step forward in dentistry.
“This cooperation will have a significant impact on our institution, whereby we will be able to benefit from Zayed University’s scientific resources and considerable expertise in scientific and educational research,” Dr. Hamed pointed out.
