Umm Al Qaiwain: The UAE Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs (MFNCA) recently unveiled the fifth edition of the ‘Neighborhood Majlis’ initiative.
Apart from raising awareness of the upcoming Federal National Council (FNC) elections, the initiative will also strive to promote a culture of political participation among all members of the community, and introduce the public to the parliamentary accomplishments made over the past 50 years.
MFNCA is launching the fifth round of the initiative nationwide in an effort to educate community members, in line with its strategic objectives to use all resources and capabilities available to raise public awareness of the parliamentary experience in the UAE.
PLANNED EVENTS
The Neighborhood Majlis Initiative will begin with a lecture, held in collaboration with the Executive Council of the Emirate of Umm Al Quwain under the title ‘Civil Society’s Support for the Upcoming Elections’.
The session which will take place at Oud Al Tayer Majlis in Umm Al Qaiwain on Thursday, 24th February, 2022, at 6:30 PM, will feature Counsellor Zayed Al Shamsi, Chairman of the Emirates Centre for Human Rights Studies.
With a group of well-known experts scheduled to lead various lectures, the initiative will aim to establish and improve communication with all segments of the community, and introduce them to the Political Empowerment Program, launched by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the 34th anniversary of the UAE’s establishment in 2005.
The talks, set to be organized in the ‘, will also provide detailed explanation of the Federal National Council, its functions, and its role in serving the UAE and its citizens, supporting them to fulfil their aspirations and needs.
The program will also explore topics that aim to raise awareness and promote the upcoming FNC elections, introducing the public to the progress that has been made in previous electoral cycles.
