Abu Dhabi: The Department of Community Development in Abu Dhabi (DCD), in association with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC) and the Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre (ADPHC), has launched the second Sports and Physical Activity Survey.
It aims to study community perspectives regarding sports and physical activity. Through the collection of important information, a comprehensive picture can be drawn in order to set policies that support physical activity in the emirate, as per the statement.
The survey focuses on four main areas, including participants’ physical activity levels, their opinions on sports facilities and events, as well as their overall aspirations and perceptions.
It is part of an ongoing departmental initiative to grasp the physical activity patterns within different segments of society, particularly in connection with community sports and behaviors.
The gathered insights and perspectives will play a vital role in guiding and advancing initiatives that align with the desires and requirements of the community.
The survey is in line with DCD’s role as the regulator of the social sector in the emirate and supports the mission of the department to promote an active lifestyle for all.
Its outcomes will aid in the proactive identification of improvement areas. Additionally, they will support data-driven changes in physical activity policies and programs. The ultimate goal is to enhance well-being and elevate the overall quality of life within society.
