Abu Dhabi: The 11th UAE International Orthopedic Conference has kicked off at the Abu Dhabi Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).
The conference is organized by the Emirates Orthopedic Division of the Emirates Medical Association from November 17 to 19.
The conference is attracting more than a thousand participants from different countries to discuss a wide range of topics related to orthopedics, modern fields, the latest global trends in the field of cartilage transplantation using stem cell technology, and the modern uses of medical endoscopes and artificial intelligence in the fields of knee and shoulder replacement.
The UAE International Orthopedic Conference offers a wide range of educational methods in the field of orthopedics, including panel discussions with high-level international and regional speakers, refresher courses, workshops, and a rich scientific program that allows professionals in academia and industry to learn about the latest research and rapid developments in orthopedics.
During the opening ceremony, Dr. Ali Al Suwaidi, Head of the Orthopedic Division at the Emirates Medical Association and Chairman of the Conference, stated that, “The conference aims to present and research the latest treatments used in orthopedic diseases in addition to reviewing the latest innovations and scientific research from around the world, and the conference is a platform in which our doctors participate with experts. Doctors from all over the world receive lectures in subspecialties for the benefit of all participants, in addition to displaying the latest medical equipment and devices at the pavilion of the companies supporting the conference.”
Dr. Al Suwaidi noted that the conference sessions focus on important topics such as inflammation and roughness of the joints, especially the knee, and shoulder, and how to treat with the latest methods of arthroscopy or joint replacement using augmented reality and artificial intelligence. It also covers how to deal with complications that may arise after performing these operations, along with discussing developments in the treatments of sports, shoulder, and knee injuries, especially ligament and tendon rupture, and addressing how to deal with the failure of tendon and ligament restoration process.
The conference includes a variety of educational methods, more than 50 scientific papers, and five workshops, in addition to training courses as well as educational lectures for students and researchers, providing a practical platform that allows specialists from all academic and industrial circles to keep abreast of the latest research and modern developments.
“The Emirates Orthopedic Division is making great efforts to attract international experts to provide an opportunity for our doctors and doctors from our brothers in neighboring countries to exchange experiences and knowledge regarding orthopedic diseases and discuss emerging and controversial treatments,” Dr. Al Suwaidi added.
