Abu Dhabi: Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, declared that the UAE has allocated $5 million to Sigrid Kaag, the UN Senior Humanitarian and Reconstruction Coordinator for Gaza, in carrying out the directives of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed emphasized the UAE’s desire to back Sigrid Kaag’s efforts to lessen the suffering of the Gaza population and increase the immediate humanitarian response to their needs, as well as the UN’s humanitarian operations in the Gaza Strip.
During their meeting, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Kaag, who is currently visiting the nation, discussed how the war’s aftermath is affecting Gaza and how to address it more quickly and efficiently in order to meet the needs of the people and lessen their suffering.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed emphasized the need for a ceasefire in this context, as well as making sure that humanitarian, relief, and medical aid reach the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip in a timely, intensive, safe, and obstacle-free manner in order to prevent additional casualties and exacerbating the situation in the occupied Palestinian territory.
In accordance with President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s orders, the UAE launched Operation “Gallant Knight 3” to aid the Palestinian people, and the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) has been providing food and winter clothing to the people of the Gaza Strip.
The ERC teams brought 80,993 winter clothing items to the residents of the Gaza Strip. The ERC continues to run 16 charity kitchens as part of its humanitarian relief efforts to feed the displaced people living in the Gaza Strip’s governorates.
A total of 112,993 people benefited from the food program, with 8,000 families, including 32,000 individuals, getting meals distributed to them.
