Sharjah: Talent Beyond Boundaries (TBB), a remarkable nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting refugees with international job opportunities, has emerged as the winner of the prestigious 7th edition of the Sharjah International Award for Refugee Advocacy and Support (SIARA 2023). The award, sponsored by the esteemed Big Heart Foundation, celebrates the extraordinary efforts of individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to the advancement of refugee advocacy and support. As the recipient of this accolade, TBB will be granted a generous sum of $136,130 (AED 500,000).

Amongst 423 candidates representing 41 countries from across the globe, Talent Beyond Boundaries stood out as an exemplary entity, leaving an indelible impact on the lives of countless refugees. The organization’s unwavering dedication and groundbreaking initiatives have not only inspired governments but also transformed the prospects of individuals who have been forced to flee their homes.

Talent Beyond Boundaries has embarked on a multifaceted approach to assist refugees in rebuilding their lives and integrating into new societies. By creating vital opportunities for education, training, and employment, TBB has become a catalyst for positive change. Through their efforts, they have managed to significantly enhance the income of refugees, increasing it by an astonishing 750 percent. Moreover, TBB has played a crucial role in verifying the qualifications of refugees, thereby ensuring their skills are recognized and valued in their new environments.

Big Heart Foundation

One of the organization’s notable achievements has been the design and implementation of innovative migration pathways. By collaborating closely with governments and identifying in-demand workers across more than 200 occupations, TBB has effectively paved the way for thousands of refugees to embark on a journey of hope and stability.

Additionally, Talent Beyond Boundaries has forged strong partnerships with over 300 employers, who have recognized the immense value and potential of refugee talent. Through these collaborations, TBB has facilitated the successful resettlement and integration of more than 6,000 refugees, empowering them to make meaningful contributions to society.

The impact of Talent Beyond Boundaries extends far beyond the individuals it directly assists. By connecting refugees with employment opportunities, TBB not only addresses their immediate needs but also fosters a sense of self-sufficiency and resilience. Through their work, they have laid the foundation for a more inclusive and compassionate society.

Ms. Mariam Al Hammadi, Director of The Big Heart Foundation, stated that, “The Sharjah International Award for Refugee Advocacy and Support (SIARA) recognises and celebrates the work of individuals and organisations that are making a difference in the lives of refugees. This year, SIARA is proud to award Talent Beyond Boundaries, an organization that is empowering refugees to provide for themselves and their families, and to shape their own future.”
