Sharjah: The Sharjah Social Services Department has unveiled the Aman Safety Network for Those Affected by the Weather initiative to support those impacted by the country’s recent weather and encourage a sense of social responsibility among individuals and organizations.
In response to the initiative, Sharjah Media City (Shams) moved quickly to become the first government organization to join the network. The network’s goal is to establish dependable channels for the government and private sector to receive donations to support the affected individuals and families as soon as possible, depending on the circumstances of each case.
The goal of the Aman Network initiative is to increase the variety of donation sources and types. Donations can be made in cash, directly credited into the Social Services Department’s bank account, or made by calling the department.
Donations of food, clothing, furniture, and electrical appliances can also be made, as well as cleaning, repair, and maintenance services for homes, in addition to building materials, tools, and health services. Donations will be gathered by the Social Services Department, which will then allocate them using a sophisticated system to make sure the greatest number of impacted individuals receive them.
The Safety Net initiative, which was started in response to orders from Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the Supreme Council member and ruler of Sharjah, is a complement to the Emirate’s efforts to support everyone impacted by the recent weather in the nation and fosters a sense of social responsibility and national and community cohesion, according to Afaf Ibrahim Al Marri, Head of the Social Services Department.
Al Marri praised the initiatives of commercial sector players, government agencies, and people pledging the strongest solidarity with everyone impacted by the bad weather and providing all assistance necessary. She went on, “This has had a huge positive impact on all those affected,” and urged everyone to support the humanitarian response by responding to the Aman Network effort.
