Abu Dhabi: The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi Abu Dhabi (IIT-Delhi Abu Dhabi), the first international campus of the IIT-Delhi, has introduced a master’s program in Energy Transition and Sustainability (ETS) at the campus at Zayed University.
The program, scheduled to start in January 2024, is specifically designed for the Abu Dhabi campus and seeks to prepare professionals and scholars of the energy industry.
The program will equip students with the knowledge and expertise they need to implement sustainable approaches and solutions. The program’s significance is heightened as the UAE prepares to host this year’s highly anticipated COP28, coinciding with the country’s Year of Sustainability in 2023.
With the successful completion of the master’s program, ETS graduates will generate a high level of confidence and adaptability when working with peers from diverse disciplinary backgrounds. This will eventually ensure holistic knowledge foundations for students to begin their careers in fields related to the energy sector.
Individuals planning to enroll, who must be proficient in written and spoken English, should have a four-year bachelor’s degree in mechanical, chemical, civil, petroleum, electrical and electronics engineering, energy, aerospace, materials and metallurgy, or physics. Alternatively, an M.Sc. in physics or chemistry is also deemed acceptable.
IIT-Delhi Abu Dhabi was established following a historic memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed by IIT-Delhi and Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) in July.
