Dubai: The ENOC Team has won the title of the cricket competition at the 4th Labour Sports Tournament, which was held with the participation of 20,000 workers from different companies working in Dubai.
The Labour Sports Tournament was organised by the Dubai Sports Council (DSC) in collaboration with the Permanent Committee of Labour Affairs in Dubai, Dubai Police, and the Positive Soul Initiative under the title “Their Happiness is Our Goal”.
Participants in the Labour Sports Tournament competed in 11 sports competitions, including kabaddi, football, basketball, volleyball, badminton, arm wrestling, yoga, tug of war, cricket, road racing, and swimming.
The cricket competition took place at the labour accommodations pitches of Dubai Holding in Jebel Ali, with the participation of 32 teams from various companies.
The first three winning teams and players who won individual titles in the various categories of the competition were honoured by Mr. Abdulla Al-Shukri, Secretary-General of the Permanent Committee of Labour Affairs in Dubai, and DSC’s Representative.
ENOC won over Kalgidar Transport’s counterpart in the final match of the cricket competition to win the title. Kalgidar has therefore secured the second place, followed by Desert Group in the third place.
The ENOC’s Pereira was honoured as the best player, while Nachiket Singh of Kalgidar Transport gained the best batsman’s title, and Sufian from BK Gulf was awarded as the best bowler in the competition.
DSC organises the Labour Sports Tournament to give workers a unique opportunity to engage in favourite sports, spend entertaining times, break the daily routine of work, strengthen social ties with counterparts in other entities, and enhance physical fitness.
