Dubai: Dubai’s largest esports and games festival, the Dubai Esports and Games Festival (DEF 2023), has kicked off at the South Halls of the Dubai Exhibition Centre, Expo City Dubai.
Under the patronage of Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, DEF 2023 commenced with the GameExpo Summit, a two-day business conference powered by PG Connects, attended by over a 1,000 leading industry professionals.

The primary objective of the summit is to facilitate the growth of the gaming industry in the region by empowering emerging games businesses and encouraging investments within this dynamic ecosystem.
Engaging sessions included the Global Trends Panel and MENA Trends Panel with engaging discussions held focusing on Destination Dubai and Esports Innovation. Keynote speakers, including Dr. Marwan Al Zarooni, Strategic Advisor of DET, Mr. Saeed Kharbash, CEO of Dubai Culture, and Mr. Khalid Al Awar, Director of Sports Development Department at Dubai Sports Council, among others, shared their expertise and insights.
