Abu Dhabi: During Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW), hosted by Masdar from April 16-18, 2024, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is actively participating in four panel discussions. The event at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre aims to foster sustainable development across economic, social, and environmental realms.
DEWA is not only engaging in panel discussions but is also presenting its major projects and innovations in sustainability, and renewable and clean energy at its exhibition in Hall No. 5, designated as the Energy Hall.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, emphasized the UAE’s commitment to sustainability, under the guidance of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Vice President Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Al Tayer noted, “DEWA’s participation underscores our dedication to national sustainability efforts and our strategic partnership with Masdar.”
He added that ADSW serves as a platform for DEWA to share its strides in energy diversification and to achieve the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 goals, which aim for a complete shift to clean energy by 2050.
The World Future Energy Summit, a part of ADSW, will feature DEWA officials in key discussions. On the first day, Mohamed Abdulkarim Al Shamsi will discuss transitioning to clean energy. The following day, Mohammad Jame will talk about increasing renewable energy usage, highlighting the expansion of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park.
Additionally, Dr. Hesham Ismail will present on DEWA’s pioneering Green Hydrogen Project at the Green Hydrogen Summit. Athbeh Al Shehhi will also speak about empowering youth in sustainability efforts on the third day of ADSW.
