Abu Dhabi: The Department of Community Development – Abu Dhabi (DCD) has reiterated its enthusiasm to hold general assemblies during the first four months of the year, in keeping with the recent launch of the “Sharek” platform.
The innovative Sharek platform allows public benefits associations licensed in Abu Dhabi to host general assemblies – whether in person, virtually, or hybrid – to increase community participation and the effectiveness of decision-making.
Executive Director of DCD’s Social Licensing and Control Sector Mubarak Salem Al Ameri emphasized that the department encourages associations and civil society organizations to apply for licenses so that they can operate within the bounds of applicable laws. Al Ameri emphasized the need to obtain the necessary licenses, which allow organizations and associations to make valuable contributions to society and advance all-encompassing and sustainable development.
Al Ameri further highlighted the achievements of the ‘Sharek’ platform, noting the successful inaugural General Assembly of the Union for Human Rights Association earlier in the year.
With its sixteen specialized human rights domains, the Association is essential in providing guidance, raising awareness of human rights in many social sectors, and working with international organizations to further sustainable development objectives.
Al Ameri emphasized the importance of DCD’s commitment to digital government transformation by emphasizing the provision of technical services that improve client accessibility, optimize workflows, and lower operating expenses.
Unveiled at the GITEX technology conference, the Sharek platform functions as a powerful meeting management solution that makes elections and meetings go smoothly and does not require actual presence.
