Sharjah: The 20th edition of the Sharjah Heritage Days in Al Hamriyah was officially launched in presence of Dr. Abdulaziz Al Musallam, Chairman of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage.
Visitors and guests to the Heritage Days in Al Hamriyah were given an overview of the events going on throughout the Heritage Village in Al Hamriyah, including interactive, folkloric, and popular theatrical performances that were put on by the local schools as well as traditional songs, acting scenes, folk and sports games, and cultural events.
International teams and other heritage teams performed artistic activities and well-known dances. Competitions for kids who were accompanied by their parents were also held, and important presents and awards were given out.
The opening ceremony was attended by Mr. Humaid Saif bin Samha Al Shamsi, Chairman of the Municipal Council in Al Hamriyah, Mr. Saeed Obaid Bouvier Al Shamsi, Director of the Emiri Diwan in Al Hamriyah, Mr. Humaid Ali Al Ali, Deputy Chairman of Al Hamriyah Region Council, Mr. Humaid Fayez Al Shamsi, Vice President of the Municipal Council, Mr. Mubarak Rashid Al Shamsi, Director of Al Hamriyah Municipality and a large number of attendees, families, and those interested in heritage.
In order to represent the heritage aspects of reviving memory and planning for a prosperous future, Mr. Humaid Al Shamsi said that holding Sharjah Heritage Days activities in Al Hamriyah fits within the framework of the insightful vision and wise directives of Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
The Al Hamriyah Municipality, the Municipal Council of Al Hamriyah Region, the Emiri Diwan, the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, the Sharjah Museums Authority, the Al Hamriyah District Council, the Social Services Department, the Sharjah Ladies Club, the Al Hamriyah Club, the Al Hamriyah Art Center, the Sharjah Museums Authority, the Sharjah Police General Headquarters, and schools in Al Hamriyah are among the organisations taking part in Sharjah Heritage Days.
