Dubai: The Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament, organized by the Dubai Sports Council (DSC), has been held annually during the Holy Month of Ramadan since 2013 at the renowned Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex. This event is the largest of its kind in terms of participation and prize money, and is held under the theme of “Limitless Abilities.”
The NAS Running Challenge is experiencing a 30 percent rise in participant numbers compared to previous editions. This year’s challenge will include races for various categories such as 10KM Open Men, 10KM Open Women, 10KM UAE Nationals, 5KM Open Men, 5KM Open Women, 5KM UAE National Men, 5KM UAE National Women, and a 4KM race for younger age groups.
The President of the UAE Athletics Federation, Major General Dr. Muhammad Abdullah Al-Murr, is pleased with the significant number of participants from different sectors of society, including both residents and expatriates. Dr. Abdullah Al-Murr believes that this demonstrates an increase in the popularity of sports and the adoption of a healthy lifestyle.
Commending the Organising Committee and Dubai Sports Council for their sincere efforts, the president of the UAE Athletics Federation applauded their decision to include competitions in the open category for women in the NAS Sports Tournament. Dr. Abdullah Al-Murr believes that this is a significant step towards making women an integral part of athletic competitions.
The NAS Volleyball Championship showcased yet another round of exciting matches on 5th April 2023.
