Abu Dhabi: Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs, has welcomed UAE astronauts Dr. Sultan Al Neyadi, Minister of State for Youth, Hazzaa AlMansoori, and the team of the “Zayed Ambition 2” mission from the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC), led by Salem Humaid AlMarri, Director-General of the Centre.
Sheikh Abdullah praised the astronauts’ and the MBRSC team’s groundbreaking accomplishments during the meeting, pointing out that their work has greatly advanced scientific innovation and technological advancement in the nation.
Additionally, he emphasized how these accomplishments are in line with the UAE’s vision for growth and advancement under the savviest leadership of Vice President, Prime Minister, and Dubai Ruler, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and President, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Sheikh Abdullah also highlighted the importance of space exploration in motivating the nation’s next generation of scientists and researchers by praising the strategic leadership of the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center and the invaluable experiences astronauts have gained from their missions to the International Space Station (ISS).
The team gave Sheikh Abdullah the Ministry of Foreign Affairs logo that Dr. Al Neyadi carried on his historic mission, the longest Arab space mission to the International Space Station, as a symbolic gesture honoring the success of the “Zayed Ambition 2” mission and the UAE’s dedication to space exploration.
“It serves as inspiration for the team to further elevate their efforts and foster excellence and innovation in space science,” MBRSC Director-General AlMarri said, thanking Sheikh Abdullah for his unwavering support and the warm reception they received.
