Dubai: The UAE SWAT Challenge, which took place for the fifth time at Training City in Al Ruwayyah, Dubai, has come to an end. 73 teams from 41 different countries participated in the event, which was attended by Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of the Dubai Police, as well as tactical team leaders from other nations.
On the last day of the competition, teams from different backgrounds competed in the “Obstacle” challenge, which was the last of the five main challenges that started on February 3. The competitions demonstrated the participating teams’ exceptional talents as well as their high standards of professionalism, preparation, and competitive spirit.
The UAE Swat Challenge 2024 was organized as part of a collaboration between the Ministry of Interior, led by Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and Dubai Police.
Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri thanked the UAE leadership for its support of Dubai Police and emphasized the success of the fifth edition of the UAE SWAT Challenge. Furthermore, he stated, the holding of such international contests serves to further cement Dubai’s standing as a top venue for major international gatherings.
According to Al Marri, the UAE SWAT Challenge provides a global platform for different tactical teams and special units to compete and succeed. “The challenge provides an opportunity for police forces to engage with counterparts from around the globe, acquire new skills and strengthen cooperation at both regional and international levels,” Al Marri said.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Dubai Police also emphasized the exceptional rise in the number of teams and nations taking part this year, along with the intense rivalry and readiness displayed by all competitors.
